Berkuma LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Amen mobile application (the "App").

when you use our mobile application.
By using the Amen app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance
with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use the App.

2.1 Information You Provide

- User Content: Messages, photos, videos, voice recordings, and other content you
create or share
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe (we do not store full
payment card details)
- Event Information: Events you create, attend, or participate in

3. Permissions and Data Access
The Amen app requires certain permissions to provide its full functionality. Below is a
detailed explanation of each permission and how we use it:
📷 Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA)
Purpose: We use camera access to:
- Take photos to share in conversations and community posts
- Enable video calls and video messaging
- Scan QR codes for event check-ins and sharing
Data Collected: Photos and videos you capture using the app. This data is stored on
your device and on our servers when you choose to share it.
Sharing: Photos and videos are only shared with users you explicitly choose to share
with, or within community groups you are a member of.
🎤 Microphone Permission (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO)
Purpose: We use microphone access to:
- Record voice messages for conversations
- Enable audio and video calls
- Provide voice-to-text transcription features
Data Collected: Audio recordings you create. Voice messages are stored on our
servers when sent. Audio from calls is processed in real-time and not stored unless you explicitly
record a call.
Sharing: Voice messages are only sent to recipients you choose. Call audio is not
shared with third parties.
📍 Location Permissions (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
Purpose: We use location data to:
- Provide location-based features and services
- Show nearby events and community activities
- Enable location sharing in conversations (when you choose to share)
- Improve location-based recommendations
Data Collected: Your device's approximate or precise location (depending on
permission granted). Location data is only collected when the app is in use and you have granted
permission.
Sharing: Location data is only shared with other users when you explicitly choose to
share your location. We do not sell or share location data with third parties for advertising
purposes.
📁 Storage Permissions (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_*)
Purpose: We use storage access to:
- Access photos and videos from your device to share in conversations
- Save photos and videos you receive or create in the app
- Access documents and files you want to share
Data Collected: Media files (images, videos, audio) and documents you choose to
access or share through the app.
Sharing: Files are only shared with users you explicitly choose to share with.
🌐 Internet Permission (android.permission.INTERNET)
Purpose: Required for the app to function, including:
- Syncing data with our servers
- Real-time messaging and notifications
- Loading content and updates
📳 Notifications
Purpose: We send push notifications for:
- New messages and conversations
- Incoming calls
- Event reminders and updates
- Important app updates
You can manage notification preferences in your device settings or within the app.
